The House of Voevoda is a monument of Russian civil architecture.
Solikamsk voevoda (or voivode, the commander of an army, the
governor of a province in ancient Russia) lived in this building. It was erected in 1688 under voevoda
Ivan Golovin after the fire destroing the city old wood fortress. The House was the first stone
civil building in Solikamsk. The facades of the building are decorated with pretty patterns.
The House had some subterranean passages that went to the next Epiphany Church and the
Usolka River. Nowadays the city's historical Museum is in the
House of Voevoda.
