The Vishera, a tributary of the Kama and one of the most beautiful
rivers in North Ural, is about 415 kms long. The Vishera is majestic and fickle, it has rapids, shallows,
reaches, islands, and submarine rocks.
The river flows near Tulymskii range and the highest point of Perm oblast -
Tulymskii Rock (1377 meters). There are quaint blocks of stone 'Govorlivyi'
(Bubbling), 'Stolby' (Posts), 'Polyd', 'Vetlan' on the
banks of the Vishera and each of them has its own legendary. There are numerous caves in which some
pictures of cavemen have been preserved.
Timber is supplied to the Vishera pulp and paper mill. Due to the construction of this mill, a new town
of Krasnowishersk has grown. The Big Soviet Encyclopedia was printed on the paper of this mill.
The Vishera is also a favorite place of taking a rest for tourists and fishermen.
