Thank you for visiting
The former female Transfiguration Monastery has two churches. The smallest of them, the Church of Feast of the Presentation of the Blessed Virgin, was built in 1683-1713. It is quite simple and has one dome. It was used for winter public worship. In the neighborhood is another building - Transfiguration Church (in the photo). It was erected in 1683-1690 by Solikamsk architect Loginko Korsakov and a team of masons headed by brothers Grigorii and Matvei Myasnikovs. The Church is quite picturesque and has a bell tower.
The money for building of the female Monastery were appropriated by a merchant's wife Evdokia Shchepotkina. It was located in then farther side of the city. The Monastery was not rich and did not have its own lands so Evdokia Shchepotkina made large donations to it. The nuns went begging as well. In 1765 the Monastery was closed.
Nowadays Transfiguration Church is opened again and has regular public worship.
