Solikamsk pulp and paper mill, which was reorganized to joint stock company
"Solikamskbumprom" in the 1990s, is one of largest in Russia. In the Soviet times every third
newspaper of the Soviet Union was printed on its paper. The paper rolls are exported to Great Britain, France, India, Turkey and
many other countries
The mill gave maiden pulp in March, 1941. By that time the first paper making machine was put into operation and produced
wrapping paper from knotty pulp. In our days the mill has been modernizing its production, establishing new equipment, mastering
modern high speed machines. High quality is what distinguishes Solikamsk paper.
One can see the paper making machine in the photo. The site author worked at the next paper machine for some months in 1992.
