All Soviet towns had Lenin monuments. Solikamsk has not been an
exception.
Some events in Solikamsk history are directly concerned with the leader of the Bolshevist rebellion.
In 1907 Solikamsk salt-workers proposed Lenin as a delegate of the
London Congress of Russian Social Democratic Party.
Some delegates from village Polovodovo, 18 km away from Solikamsk,
set off for Moscow to visit Lenin in 1920. They were
F. Sannikov, P. Moskaleyv, and
G. Mikhalev. They wanted to tell Lenin about unlawful acts of
the Soviet power, such as taking away peasants live-stock. The leader ordered to issue some pounds of books, portraits, and
wrote a letter to the local Perm Committee. The created commission revised the governing bodies
of the region.
