The Kama connects Solikamsk with the
Volga basin. It is the cheapest way for conveyance of Ural timber, cole, metal, mineral fertilizers, paper,
chemicals. Length of the Kama is about 2,000 kms. This is the most full flowing tributary of the
Volga.
There are picturesque willow bed, alder woods, bird cherry trees, guilder roses, rich coniferous woods on the banks of the river in
the outskirts of Solikamsk. Colored nature, ancient settlements, villages, and historical places near
the Kama attract many tourists.
One may cruise the Kama and its tributary the Usolka to the place of
landing of a spacecraft 'Voshod-2' ('Rise-2'), in which Russian astronauts
A. Leonov and P. Belyaev accomplished a joint flight.
