Russian tsarist government sent thousands exiles to convict colonies in Siberia through Solikamsk.
Among them was K. Voroshilov, a well-known Russian Bolshevik -
a professional revolutionist. Under the influence of political convicts and local activists a small section of Russian Social Democratic
Party was created in Solikamsk in 1905. The members of the section conducted revolutionary
propaganda work, spread illegal literature and leaflets.
The local Soviet was created in March, 1917. However, the Soviet power was proclaimed only in July, 1919, after the liberation of
the city from the forces of Kolchak, who was one of the leaders, fighting against Communists.
Solikamsk inhabitants have named after the lost revolutionists the streets of the city.
Thus, Bolshevistskaya street means "the Street of Bolsheviks".
My house is on this street and I live here at present.
