A detail analysis of the CLEAN algorithm for strongly uneven time series is given. The limits of parameters which can be estimated for a given time grid are obtaned. The results of our analysis are used for searáhing the harmonic components in line profile variations in the spectra of O8III star lambda Ori A obtained in 2001 with 1 m telescope of the Special Astrophisical Observatory of the Russian Academy of Science.
