About the Institute

Astronomical Institute of St. Petersburg University is located in Stary Peterhof, some 40 km from St. Petersburg, the second largest city of Russia. The Institute has a scientific staff of about 50 persons and perform scientific research in a variety of fields of astrophysics, stellar dynamics, celestial mechanics, and astrometry. The staff members also take an active part in teaching of undergraduate, graduate, and post-graduate students in astronomy of the Mathematics and Mechanics Faculty of the University.
